OBSTINACY
I fold you, bend you, dress you, stretch you. I place you in my clothes and I own you with my frame
The project OBSTINACY is a study on identity and childhood memories embedded in textiles. Whilst forcing friends and loved ones into her clothes, the artist investigates the power dynamic of photographer and subject. Forcibly she enters the sphere of her subjects, likewise forcing them to become part of hers, demanding them into obscure positions, making them into origami-like sculptures of fabric and gargoyle creatures. She bends her loved ones into abstract positions, overwhelming them with flash, undermining them into mere objects. But the project is also a game. A place where she invites her subjects to let her play dolls and dress up, obstinately forcing a play of love and objectification all at once.
